In December of 1996, Andy completed a Bachelor's Degree in History and Political Science. His focus was in Ancient/Medieval/Early Modern History and Political Philosophy. He completed extensive coursework in U.S. History and Politics.
Andy's graduate study consisted of largely independent study, paper writing, and graduate teaching assistant work. His thesis, a conceptual history of property and property rights from Plato to the present, is unfinished to this date. It remains a labor of love for Andy, who hopes to return to it soon.
Andy's lifelong passion for history and politics led him to pursue these passions academically. Writing on everything from Ancient Greece to the Vietnam War, he developed a love of research and works derived from primary sources. His writing in these fields can vary from formal academic to blogging in colloquial terms.
Andy has contributed a number of articles to online hockey publications over the years, as well as contributed print and online content for the professional sports teams he has worked for. Andy has written business and marketing plans, budgets, press releases, website articles, promotional material for professional hockey and lacrosse.
Through his work with professional sports teams, Andy has become a student of sports marketing, and marketing in general. Applying techniques learned through a dedication to education, Andy began blogging on the topic in late 2016.
Andy has submitted articles for hockey websites since 2009. His enjoyment in this area was derived from the combination of story-telling and marketing. It's one thing to describe what is going on, but another to get people to realize they missed out and should come to the next game.
As a sales and marketing specialist for professional sports teams, Andy was responsible for writing ad copy for both radio and television, as well as designing print and web-based ads.
In 2016, Andy began compiling research and notes from a career in sales and marketing into buckets which would form the basis of an online training course. From this, sprung a number of e-Books on various topics within those fields.
