With 4.5 years under her belt, Kat is an experienced program content specialist with a specialization in meetings.

In 2013, she worked for the Society of General Internal Medicine (SGIM) as a Meetings Assistant. She developed the marketing copy for the association's seven regional meetings such as: e-blasts and website content. She was also responsible for managing the registration process, abstract submissions, and regional awards and elections for each region. In her last year, she created a how-to booklet to teach the regional officers on communications and how to effectively use/manage the association's discussion board; therefore, reducing the number of e-mails received and reducing inbox clutter.

In 2015, she left SGIM and joined the National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD) as their Education Programs Coordinator. In addition to assisting with the development of the program content of the various meetings the association offers, she also manages several educational programs including the newly developed online training platform, NACD U.

She is often called upon to review and edit marketing material developed by the association's communication manager as well as creating the copy for the session content and activities for the meeting programs. Also, she develops educational highlights for the association's weekly newsletter, ChemBytes.

Previously, Kat designed and developed creative copy for flyers and brochures for Virginia State University and her chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. She received a paid assignment to create a flyer for Kappa Alpha Psi's Annual Gala at Virginia State.
