Joanne received a BA with honors in Art History from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Here, she focused her studies on Non-Western Art.
Joanne received a Master's Degree with honors in Art History from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Here, she focused her studies on Native American Art, primarily that of both the Northwest Coast of Canada and the United States and the societies of Pre-Contact Mesoamerica.
Joanne is an academic who has written for academic blogs and ebooks. She is experienced with the finer points of writing for academia, and much of her work recently has been focused on creating Open Education Resources, such as textbooks, to make academic writing more accessible to students and the larger public.
Joanne is experienced writing blogs for academic purposes, and has used her own as a guide for students that is accessible to anyone on the web. This blog then is dual purpose, and shows Joanne's versatility within her writing. It is also meant to be informative and academic, while remaining interesting to the reader.
Joanne is experienced writing academic articles of the type that would be published in journals and ejournals. She is experienced with academic research, formatting, and citation styles and types, including APA and MLA. Her writing in this format follows the guidelines of peer reviewed journals as well, and shows her interest in research and academia.
