Melanie's writing career has taken her many places, beginning at KZSC, a college radio station nestled between the redwoods at U.C. Santa Cruz. After working as a story writer for their news program, she worked her way up to become the content developer, an editor in chief of sorts, helping students develop revise their pieces to fit with the standards and direction of the program. KZSC has won many regional awards due to programs like this, that stayed true to the community, were unique, engaging, and cutting-edge.

After college, Melanie focused her attention on freelance writing projects whilst performing odd jobs. She's developed academic content for Varsity Tutors, written young adult nonfiction for Atlantic Publishing, edited scripts, essays, and books for private clients, and produced content for a digital marketing agency specializing in SEO. Melanie's freelancing has been an absolute thrill, and she feels lucky to be working in a field where she learns something new and challenges herself every day.
