The intent of this newsletter is to establish a relationship between students and the Academy, as well as showcase benefits of Academy involvement. She also participated in monthly calls with the Student-Resident Committee. In 2016, Heather attended the annual Academy meeting where she had the opportunity to volunteer with high school students in order to raise awareness and generate interest in the field of prosthetics and orthotics. Heather also attended the 2016 Midwest Chapter Academy meeting, where she volunteered both during the meeting and during an RIC (Rehabilitative Institute of Chicago) directed study.
