Sandra is a blog contributor who enjoys any type of writing, from research articles to young adult novels. Her varied educational and employment background include a Bachelor's degree, as well as two Master's degrees. She has been educated and/or employed in the following fields, elementary education, sociology, anthropology, social work, counseling, and mental health case management.

While Sandra finds it easy to write about what she knows best, she also enjoys writing about topics that are new to her. She always enjoys learning new things, especially when that learning takes place through research and writing.


Sandra's areas of interests include interior design, organization, food, pets (including exotic), education, the social sciences, holiday decorating, weightlifting, running, dance fitness, and many types of crafts, including paper and wood crafts, cross stitch, and DIY home decor items. She is currently working on a Harry Potter themed Christmas tree, complete with handmade howlers, a book of monsters, cauldrons, metal sayings,and hand stitched ties representing each house.

When not writing, Sandra spends as much time as possible reading, hiking with her husband and teenage son, scouring Pinterest, and caring for her many pets, including dogs, cats, bearded dragons, frogs, geckos, fish, and birds.


University of Pikeville

Sandra's time spent at the University of Pikeville was filled with learning and forming lifelong relationships with both her professors, as well as her peers. While there, she fell in love with the social sciences, specifically sociology, anthropology, and psychology. And while she was not feeling the love for the hard sciences, she did manage to make it through a few of those classes as well. In addition, she also studied journalism, criminal justice, folk art, and world religions.

Sandra wrote for the college newspaper. She also had a research paper published by the college in their student manual of exceptional writing examples.

Capella University

While at Capella University, Sandra studied counseling theories and mental health diagnoses and treatment.

University of the Cumberlands

Sandra received her Master of Arts in teaching from the University of the Cumberlands. There, she studied elementary education. She completed her student teaching during the fall 2015 semester and received certification to teach grades K-5.
