Shane landed his first paid job as a writer with a tiny weekly newspaper for a small community. He was the entire news department and covered community happenings.

He went on to play a senior role in an editorial team that produced several nationally distributed magazines (including Government Technology, Public CIO and Emergency Management) that won multiple Maggie Awards (Western Publishing Association) and Eddie Awards (FOLIO: Magazine) between 2002 and 2007.

As a journalist, he also wrote long- and short-form articles, editorials and in-depth Q&As with policymakers. He also planned monthly article lineups and special feature articles.

Currently, Shane holds a senior role in a team that develops content for employment law reference products. He also finds the time to write customer-facing content-marketing pieces, product messaging, short-form articles and product descriptions.
