As a student at Texas A&M, Stephanie was a columnist for the student newspaper, where she wrote a weekly opinion column. She was also on the Dean's List while at A&M and graduated with an overall GPA of 3.25.
In the high-tech industry, Stephanie has held the following positions: technical writer, technical editor, team lead, editorial advisor, corporate proposals manager, backup documentation strategist, and committee contributor. As a technical writer and editor in the high-tech arena, Stephanie has written and edited the following: end-user documentation for enterprise hardware and software products, white papers, technical briefs, web-based training content, online help, web-based marketing newsletters, and corporate proposals. As a team lead, she was responsible for leading teams of writers, editors, and illustrators in developing documentation sets for multiple enterprise products. As backup documentation strategist, she assisted in developing strategies for enterprise storage documentation. As an active member of multiple committees, Stephanie contributed to a variety of committees and focus groups dedicated to improving content management, maintaining corporate style, and developing documentation business processes.
In the publishing industry, Stephanie has held the following positions: newspaper reporter, photojournalist, features editor, and editor. As reporter and editor for a daily newspaper, she was responsible for covering news events, conducting interviews, writing articles, and taking photographs. As features editor for a daily newspaper, she was responsible for the design, layout, and content of a bi-weekly feature section. She was also responsible for a weekly opinion column.
In the non-profit industry, Stephanie held the position of online editor for the parenting portion of the website. In that role, she was responsible for: creating new web areas and features; editing, maintaining, and refreshing content; ensuring compliance with editorial standards; overseeing navigation, information architecture, and user interface issues; soliciting, editing, and posting content from freelancers; writing web articles; implementing search engine optimization (SEO); moderating discussion boards; working with website audience owners to develop content strategies; and contributing to an organization-wide web redesign effort.
