Bonnie C's Medical Industry Experience

5 Projects Completed

Over the past two years, Bonnie has written for a bi-monthly publication that is heavily involved in the medical field. Many of her stories have required interviewing doctors and technicians in the field of health and wellness, sports medicine and the iStent procedure for cataracts. One of the most important subjects, however, has been advances in gene therapy as a way to treat cancer.

Specialties

Having worked for community newspapers, Bonnie understands the importance of making every type of story a specialty. She has written features and covered public body meetings, as well as police beats. One of the specialty publications was for the car audio industry and another was in agriculture.

Interests

While subject interests are important, Bonnie has found that she enjoys learning about the many aspects that make up daily lives. When she writes, she learns. She is willing to consider any type of story.

Education

Louisiana Tech University

Bonnie attended Louisiana Tech University, majoring in business administration with emphasis on office management. Her natural writing skills made her an excellent student. After graduation, she married and started a family but rejoined the workforce in 1986, writing for a church newsletter before joining the newspaper business in 1990.

Agriculture

8 Projects Completed

For more than a year, Bonnie has been freelance writing for the owner/publisher of a monthly publication that focuses on the agriculture and logging industries with an emphasis on the environment. On an ongoing basis, she has covered and written stories that include an explosion of improperly stored M6 propellant at a local ammunition plant and how destruction of that chemical would affect the environment. She has also covered the many ways in which the logging industry affects roads and how recent floods have affected local farmers.

Press Release

0 Projects Completed

After more than 25 years in the newspaper business, Bonnie has been on both ends of a press release – receiving and writing. There are times when the media cannot attend an important event and press releases are critical to getting out the word concerning what has happened and what will happen next.
