Scott has significant sports writing experience. For two years as a side project, he served as the managing editor for Hooked on Hockey Magazine (hookedonhockeymagazine.com). He wrote several feature-style articles, offering both humor and insight. He also created a 365-piece segment that covered hockey history facts for each day of the year. He also edited for content, style, and grammar, working directly with writers to improve their skills. He currently writes for a sports humor website: CrookedScoreboard.com. He also wrote a few articles for The Hockey Writers.
He studied journalism at Roger Williams University. He wrote a 9,000-word feature story on the school's ROTC program and also produced a 15-minute documentary film on the subject. He also wrote a short screenplay for a thriller.
As an intern at Hersam Acorn Newspapers, Scott wrote several feature stories covering various upbeat topics that made it to the front pages. He also copyedited, proofread, and formatted press releases.
