During her tenure at Florida State University Laura fell in love with classical studies including ancient history, art, architecture, drama, and literature. Her secondary emphasis in humanities focused on the Renaissance art and architecture as well as the study of Shakespeare.
The focus of Laura's life is the education of her children. She has one homeschool graduate, two homeschooled high school students, and one middle school student. She often looks for ways to incorporate the current interests of the children with their educational studies. She is constantly reviewing methods of educating her own children and she writes about both successes and failures.
Laura has been a christian for 35+ years. She has written her thoughts concerning the subject for her blog and for her large homeschool community. Laura's main interest is in personal responsibility in the christian walk. How can christians be authentically biblical in today's world? Laura doesn't claim any expertise in the area but continually searches for the truth.
Laura loves to travel and enjoys sharing stories from her journeys. Her writing about travels began in 2008 when she and her family spent six weeks travelling cross-country. Since that monumental trip she has continued to share about her various adventures on her blog and with her homeschool group.
In recent years most of Laura's experience has been in writing blog posts for her own blog. Her blog focuses on her own family and their homeschooling journey and travels. She also posts about current events, crafting, and home decorating. Her style is family friendly and warm offering a realistic portrait of the daily life of a homeschooling family.
