Jodi Uhron attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and a minor in Spanish with honors, Cum Laude. During her time at IUP, Jodi wrote for the university newspaper as a sports staff writer, completed a public relations internship with an independent minor league baseball team, and worked in the campus dining hall.
Jodi Uhron completed coursework in the Web Site Design program at Penn Highlands to supplement her Journalism degree. The program included a Project class, which was similar to an internship, and worked with a group of other students to complete a web site for a non-profit organization. Jodi's role in the project was content writer and project manager. She graduated with high honors upon receiving her associate degree.
Jodi Uhron wrote a children's book about the relationship between a child and a dog. Jodi has promoted the book at events involving selling, reading, and signing the book. She has also promoted the book via the web site with links to the publisher's book store and social media. Jodi and her husband attended a baby-ready pets class prior to their daughter's birth to prepare their dog for life with a baby. After seeing a news report of a dog attacking a newborn baby, Jodi decided to learn more about child-dog safety and educate both children and parents with this book to encourage safe interactions with dogs as well as fun interactions.
Jodi created, designed, and continues to update the "Sydney & Me" web site to promote her children's book. Jodi uses a combination of the GoDaddy HTML editor to update the web site as well as using HTML and CSS coding. The web site includes book signing events, a media kit, contact information, where to buy (the book), and a link to the blog.
