Michaela's specialties include real estate, marketing, social media, and, as a parent of two rowdy boys, surviving parenting and raising responsible adults while maintaining one's humor.
Michaela's interest include fiction writing, personal essays, riding on the back of a motorcycle, reading novels, and learning to knit even though it's difficult.
Michaela graduated from Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama in 2002 with a B.A. in Psychology with honors. She also minored in English (but wishes she'd double-majored, instead).
From June 2014 to present, Michaela has been a freelance writer for a variety of companies who provide content to their clients. Michaela writes approximately 10,000 words a month on a variety of business topics such as whether to purchase a business or not, corporate donations and community involvement, and salary expectations around the world.
Michaela has worked in Marketing since 2006 when she was hired as the Marketing Director for a local psychiatrist's office. Later, she worked for a local Realtor association as the Communications Director and handled all marketing, communications, and public relations for the association with more than 2,500 members. During her time with the association, she wrote and spoke about marketing to the Realtors. Currently, she writes about online and content marketing for small businesses on her personal website.
Michaela worked for a local Realtor association for seven years and learned plenty about the real estate industry during her tenure. She now works with Realtors and Realtor associations and writes blog posts and press releases on their behalf weekly.
Most of the clients Michaela works with are looking for blog content. Michaela has written hundreds of blog posts for a variety of outlets and clients as well as in her previous position as a Communications Director. She is very familiar with common blog formatting for readers who scan content - headlines, bullet lists, use of bold or italic fonts, etc.
Michaela wrote several press releases a month as a Communications Director for a local Realtor association. Topics included advocacy, community outreach, local market statistics, and announcements on behalf of the association leadership. As a full-time writer, Michaela works with a local Realtor association to write a monthly press release on a variety of topics important to the home buying and selling public.
