After receiving his Bachelor's degree in Linguistics from the Mordovian State University in 1991, Alexander worked as a full-time translator for All-Union Researche Institute for Light Sources, Saransk Russia and then as a Lecturer at the Mordovian State University.
Since 1996 he has been working as a full time freelance translator for various Publishing Houses,Translation Agencies, individual and corporate clients. Translated and published more than 20 books, among which Stollen Away by Max Allan Collins.
