After receiving his bachelor's degree from the University of Northwestern in Saint Paul, MN., José Luis went back to his homeland Ecuador and worked as translator of scripts for a major Christian broadcasting network. In Reach Beyond Ministries (formerly known as HCJB) José Luis translated scripts of a radio program called The Discipleship Hour, a 30-Minute program produced in the USA and broadcasted in Latin America and Europe and translated into several languages. Additionally, he translated scripts for the Spanish version of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association radio programs.
Based on his commitment, HCJB (now Reach Beyond) entrusted José Luis with another project: the translation of daily news during a two-year period for Mission Network News, a network that spreads information about the missionary activity around the world. As part of this project, José Luis translated all the content of from English to Spanish.

José Luis has been translating texts from English to his native language Spanish for more than 8 years. He got his bachelor´s degree at the University of Northwestern (formerly known as Northwestern College) in Saint Paul, MN., which provided him with the tools to grasp not only the richness of the English language but also that of the US American culture. This experience coupled with his academic preparation at postgraduate level in the University of Leicester in the UK make of José Luis a translator of texts ranging from simple to complex. And although he lives in Ecuador now, José Luis still uses his knowledge of the English and German languages in academic, work and family contexts.

He also had to adapt the texts to the audience´s cultural and social context since the original scripts were meant for an US American audience.
