Elaina's specialties are in editing academic papers and theses as well as fiction works including novels, short stories, screenplays, and poetry. She has edited a number of her peers' stories through her time in academia and her recent experience in feedback exchanges for writing competitions. She has also spent time as an English tutor helping younger students work on their papers and college essays.
Elaina's interests are in writing stories of her own, particularly in the science fiction and fantasy realm. When she is not editing, she spends her time working on her first novel in the hopes of getting published. She has a fascination with the written word and the intricacies of storytelling, which gives her a keen eye in the editing sphere.
Elaina attended the University of Miami where she majored in English Literature and Film. This experience provided her with a unique set of experiences which enhanced her creative capabilities. She is a skilled editor of the highest caliber looking for an opportunity to expand her professional career beyond the sphere of academia.
Elaina has worked on a number of projects within the entertainment industry. Most of her experience has been with screenplays, and she is looking for an opportunity to expand into articles covering the entertainment industry. She has a passion for filmmaking as well as an intense knowledge of multiple sides of the entertainment sphere (including camerawork, sound, and production to name a few) that will provide a well-rounded approach to any articles, screenplays, or other documents involving the entertainment industry.
Elaina has worked on a number of scripts for her internship, which she has already provided details on. She was also asked a number of times throughout her academic career to provide feedback and alternate endings for her peers' screenplays. One of Elaina's strongest assets is her ability to write in the voice of her fellow creators. She is able to understand the vision behind a project and help it come to life in the way the author intended by finding problem areas and providing strong feedback.
Elaina's experience with short stories has prepared her for the editing process on a longer novel. She would also be capable of editing a book of short stories because that is where most of her experience lies. Outside of the thirty-forty projects she helped proofread over the course of her academic career, Elaina has recently participated in a feedback exchange for the Globe Soup competition. This competition for professional writers provided Elaina with experience giving feedback on short stories from around the world on a variety of fantasy-based topics. Elaina has also written one long-form novel of her own, and this experience has provided her with experience on both sides of the line which gives her a unique perspective.
