Craig's course work included classes and projects in typography, design concepts, art history, print production and illustration. Craig was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa society.
A majority of Craig's experience has been designing for various marketing touchpoints. He has worked on teams and solo designing assets for retail, ad agencies, B2B and more.
Craig completed several print and digital projects for a prominent pet hospital. He regularly worked with pet photography and designed marketing pieces and internal guidelines.
Over the years, Craig has completed projects for various sport brands. Some specific examples are college lacrosse brands and sports lifestyle brands. Projects include assets like catalog design, lacrosse stick tags for retail, footwear retail shop environmental renders and digital ad layouts.
Craig has experience as a graphic designer and art director at a monthly magazine. His core job was to create ads and prepare client issued ads for the magazine. He was also tasked with story layout and preparing the files to go to press.
Craig has lots of experience creating banner ads for the digital arena. He is familiar with the core ad sizes that are generally sold online by most brands. He has experience taking a piece of core art and adjusting the elements to fit many different sized ads.
Craig is excellent at taking content from the client and figuring out how to spread the information out over several pages but in an engaging way that speaks to proper hierarchy. He can work with any core art that you have available, but can also source image assets as needed.
Logos are on Craig's specialty list. He is very good at coming up with multiple logo concepts for a given brand or idea. He is careful to consider important factors in the development process, such as competitors and their branding. He has the skills to create your final vector artwork in Illustrator.
Craig's experience with photography is focused on creating print or digital ready images. He can take raw photos and retouch, color balance and even create transparency where needed. Some specific types of product photography he has experience working with include sporting goods, pets, food, beverage and apparel.
Craig has always loved to sketch and draw, which has prepared him for making impactful digital illustration. He loves to carefully craft interesting ideas using various elements such as stock photography, hand drawn elements, vector assets and typography.
Direct mail can be very effective if done right. Craig has experience designing custom direct mail pieces that shine. He can design it, then work with a printing company to create dielines, if necessary. Looking for a particular type of paper or varnish? Need spot colors? Custom die cuts? He has the skills and experience to make those special direct mail projects come to life.
One of Craig's core strengths is page layout, whether for print or digital. Using hierarchy, and always adding an underlying grid system, he will take plain text and data and create engaging layouts that move the readers eye in the right direction. Craig can create a template also, that can be used again and again but with different content.
Craig can take your raw content and data and create an infographic layout with it. His process will highlight the most important areas of a client's content, and boost communication with fresh visuals.
