What’s In a Name? A Look at the Most Clickworthy Blogs

Clickworthy Business BlogsIf you’re a small business owner in search of a blog writer for hire, you probably fall into one of two categories. If you’ve already started a blog and just need some help populating it with regularly updated content, then you’ve probably already figured out how to give your blog a catchy name that attracts and retains readers and customers. On the other hand, if you’re starting a new blog from scratch, you may want to call upon a blog writer to help you come up with a great blog title that will help you stand out.

Misspellings, Fake Words, and Acronyms, Oh My!

When we take a look at the most clicked upon websites these days, we see a lot of catchy, memorable names that are either misspelled, made up entirely, or some form of an acronym. Big sites like Reddit, StumbleUpon and Tumblr are memorable because of their slightly clunky nature, while still remaining relatively concise. This isn’t to say you need to go ahead and name your new blog SooperFunTymeBlogg, but you should consider slightly offbeat, creative spins on the name of your company.

Tell It Like It Is

On the other hand, you may opt to come up with a name that is more descriptive about what you’re blog is all about. This roundup of popular small business blogs includes several basic but clear names that will catch the attention of Internet surfers who are looking for the information they crave without any cute jokes or silly sayings. Some on the list have a playful nature however, like Neil Patel’s QuickSprout or Ivan Widjaya’s Noobpreneur, but they still give a general sense for what kind of content the blog will contain.

What to Avoid

Be sure to stay clear from blog names that are too long, too heavy on the keywords, or sound too awkward when spoken out loud (we can look at Scott Baio’s fictional character on Arrested Development for a prime example of the latter). You also want to make sure that you don’t choose something that sounds great, but has little to do with your business. Consider too if the words in your blog title are easy enough to spell if they are going to be part of your official URL. No one wants to have to spell out their website name time and time again, but luckily, a solid blog writer should be able to offer you some good suggestions for easy to spell names that aren’t just a mouthful of click bait.
