As an avid Google+ user, I’ve added people to my Circles and, within minutes, had them asking me to create content for them.
I think I joined Google+ about three years ago. At that time, I didn’t really think about the business benefits that it could bring about. In fact, I was simply using the site to promote my personal blog postings.
A few years went by, though, and I got more involved in freelance writing. In fact, I went from part-time to full-time writing and it was at this point that I started offering my services via my Google+ profile. Much to my surprise, people actually responded. After several months of promoting my services on Facebook, no had ever responded but, within minutes of offering services on Google+, people in my Circles contacted me.
One of those clients has been extremely good to me, providing me with work on a consistent basis at a very profitable rate. This connection with this particular client started when I added him to my circle and sent him a greeting. saying that I would be more than happy to provide him with content if he ever needed any. He said he just so happened to be a marketing manager and that he would love to receive content from me.
What about your business? Does it have a profile on Google+? If it doesn’t, you should definitely create one today.
If it does have a profile, are you using it actively? And when I say actively I mean at least once daily.
Being active on Google+ can mean a lot of things. Joining communities, participating in Hangouts, and giving shout outs will all help increase your company’s brand awareness.
When adding people to your Circles, make sure to include people who would likely be in need of your services. For example, people like me who work for today’s best freelance writing sites would need to connect with marketing managers. After all, it’s marketing managers who tend to be in charge of content marketing plans, so they’ll likely be in need of freelance writers.
To locate people you want to add to your Google+ Circles, I highly recommend using GPlusData. Simply enter in the title of the people you want to add to your Circles and it will give you a list of people who meet your criteria. For example, if you search for “marketing manager Kentucky,” you’ll be provided with a long list of marketing managers in Kentucky. It’s that simple.
The Takeaway
If you’re looking for ways to boost your profit levels (and you should be), then don’t forget about Google+. It could turn into a gold mine for your company.
