Chuck has over a quarter-century's experience as a writer, columnist and publisher. He began his career in 1986 as a columnist with the Southeast Charlotte (NC) News, where he wrote the syndicated "Coffee Talk". He continued the weekly column until 1994, when he moved from Charlotte to Ashland, Kentucky. Once settled, he continued the column with the local Tri-State Christian News until the business was sold in 2000.
A year later, Chuck began publishing his own motivational newspaper, The Window. This appeared monthly until 2007, when overhead costs and the decreasing popularity of hard-copy newspapers made it economically unfeasible to continue publication, he closed the enterprise.
