Emma is a 2012 graduate of Vassar College, where she focused on writing and literacy. She is now a special needs elementary school teacher and a graduate student at Hunter College, maintaining a 4.0 GPA. She has had work published in a number of literary magazines, including the Ampersand Review, Poesia, and Weave Magazine. She kept a poetry blog for a number of years, but recently took it down to avoid copyright complications as she receives more publication acceptances. She is currently employed as a Writing Center Consultant, working to help students and other community members improve their written work. She is interested in writing of all types, though she has a particularly strong background in literary writing, education writing, and creative writing. She has completed 138 projects so far for Writer Access, including copywriting, blogging, commercial, and premium content work.
Her biggest interests are writing (of course) and education, both the creation of lesson plans and writing about ideas to improve the system. She also loves food writing (and cooking!), crafting (and DIY writing), running/fitness, photography, and music, both playing it and listening to it. She has spent time teaching in Ireland and working for a baseball/literacy non-profit and an arts camp. She is also in a sketch/video comedy group.
