The focus in the legal industry has been with attorney websites, specifically personal injury attorneys. Countless hours of research went into crafting pages which would rank well for highly competitive keywords. Whether the standard "car accident" content or more difficult areas such as mesothelioma, the content written was original, ranked well, and generated leads.

Consumer Goods

E-Commerce has been a large part of Andy's career. When first working with e-commerce companies on an agency level, Andy researched buyer demographics and competitor rankings to develop original content which would do well in search. Products ranged from health and wellness supplements to automotive parts, apparel, food services, and much more.


Much of the web content written for the medical industry has been focused on higher-margin areas, such as dermatology, plastic surgery, and cosmetic dentistry. The main focus in this type of writing is appealing to the demographic, typically women with disposable income. The writing style had to accurately convey the services in a way which made them appealing from a buyer's perspective.

Title/Meta Descriptions

Meta Title and Meta Descriptions are the two most commonly overlooked (or over abused) tags related to non-page SEO. When writing SEO copy, the focus should be on the page content, followed by keywords in the URL, then H1 tag, Meta Title and finally Meta Description. It is important to disperse keyword variance through these 5 areas to complete a whole picture of the keyword(s) you're trying to rank for.

Most clients want to "rank for everything," often making the first step educating them on long-tail vs. short-tail keywords and keyword relativity. Once the primary list is decided upon, researching competitors, AdWords bid pricing, and related terms comes next. This often leads to a list of at least 1,000 keywords which will then be pared down into categories. Each web page will be targeted toward a particular keyword group, often using supporting long-tail words to increase the likelihood of ranking well for more competitive terms.

This type of writing needs to state the facts, give clear examples, and often include a layman's summary along with subtle sales intent.


Promotional writing varies between service-oriented businesses and product-oriented ones. Most of the samples given have been on the service side. Many product samples include e-commerce category content and product descriptions. Promotional writing is a delicate balance between pushing the product so much that claims are unbelievable, and not promoting it enough causing a lower conversion rate.
