Paul broke into journalism back in the fall of 2008, when he landed a part-time gig answering phone calls and taking game statistics in the Kansas City Star's sports department. Over the next 18 months, his duties at the newspaper continued to expand, and by March of 2010 he was designing up to three pages per night. But he wasn't writing.

So that spring, he accepted a job at the Jackson County Advocate newspaper, where he'd be working the high school sports beat while also contributing feature articles, and reporting on local city council and school board meetings.

He's a card-carrying member of the Missouri Press Association, and has won several writing awards while at the Advocate. Paul is most proud of his award recognition as a humor columnist and sports writer, which are his greatest areas of interest.

Paul would also like to acknowledge that in person, he's nowhere near as smarmy as he appears in this summary of his writing experience. He's actually personable and easy to work with, and he'd love to prove it to you!
