Mike began writing during his college years, where he majored in English Literature with a minor in creative writing.Before he became a professional freelance writer, however, he spent ten years in the restaurant industry. He started out as a server and a cashier, but within a few years he was manager, helping grow stores in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

In 2015, he decided to make the move to Nashville, TN, where he helped open up a new restaurant. After that was complete, he decided to take his 15 years of part time writing and make it his full time career.

Outside of WriterAccess, Mike maintains a restaurant industry blog for managers and is working on his first novel which is due to be completed by the end of 2016.

Food

Mike has worked in the Restaurant Industry as a manager for 10 years. He has written articles on the industry for various industry magazines and websites. Mike began his career as most do in the Restaurant industry: waiting tables. From there, he began getting more and more responsibilities and eventually was made a server and cashier trainer. After doing this for 3 years, he was offered a management position with a quick serve restaurant. He spent another two years, before taking a higher manager position at another local chain.

After 9 years of restaurant managing, he decided to move to Nashville, TN, where he helped expand a restaurant in the popular East Nashville neighborhood.

Legal

Mike's love of the legal system started at home, as his father is a retired law enforcement officer. He spent years following court cases and legal procedures while waiting for his father at the local court house. He is now avid reader of many law blogs and writes copy for several of his attorney clients.

Sports

Sports are a passion for Mike. He grew up playing football and baseball, and now spends his weekend following his Alabama Crimson Tide. He watches football, baseball, hockey and tennis. He also has a passion for boxing and MMA. To call him a sports nut would be an understatement.

Mike has written about many software issues, such as OS reviews and front ends for cloud computing. He has spent nearly twenty years of his life as a PC hobbyist and had 3 years as a web designer, using turnkey software such as Joomla. He enjoy's coding in C# and Java in his spare time.

Gaming

Mike wrote for the Warcry Gaming Network, writing news stories, traveling to media events and writing reviews on the latest games. His tenure there included being managing editor for multiple Warcry hub pages, including two extremely popular Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game websites. He left the website during its major re-imagining in 2010.

Mike ran his own independent review site from 2012-2014, where he covered mostly independent titles on the personal computer. He spent that time writing blogs about the industry.
