Justin is a freelance writer with an extensive background in men's interest writing, copywriting, academic research, background investigating, independent journalism, and short fiction editing.

Justin has backpacked in Alaska, horse-packed through Yellowstone, shot an undercover documentary about sex-trafficking in South Africa and Zimbabwe, and lived both in a Celtic monastery and as a volunteer in a transitional home for homeless and recovering youth -- all before the age of 21. As high school valedictorian, he was accepted to the USC School of Cinematic Arts but opted instead to study theater at Yale University while also training at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and taking classes at the Yale School of Drama.

In his time at Yale, Justin founded the Yale College Original Shakespeare Company where he served as Artistic Director for two years, and also founded the Yale College Theatrical Combat Association where he choreographed fights for over 30 theatrical productions. He is currently finishing an academic book on the poetics of theatrical violence. His first play DANGER MEN, AT WORK premiered as a part of the Yale Drama Coalition's 2012 Playwrights Festival and is currently being adapted for the screen.

After graduating with Distinction from Yale, Justin fulfilled his lifelong dream of building a raft and traversing the Mississippi River from Minneapolis to New Orleans. Shortly thereafter, he moved to New York City to work as an editor, proofreader, and counselor with America's top college counseling firm where many of his students were accepted to premiere universities.

Since then, he has worked as a copywriter and creative swingman for the integrated marketing communications firm, DKY INC., simultaneously working on multiple accounts in the auto, food, and agricultural markets. Additionally, Justin has an extensive history with men's brands and is a regular contributor to the men's DIY lifestyle blog, ManMade, as well as an occasional contributor to the Huckberry Journal.

Since 2014, Justin has also worked part-time as a background investigator, performing extensive research and compiling detailed case reports on a variety of subjects. He's really good at it, but unfortunately, that's about all he can say about it.

All of Justin's unique adventures inform his specific writing style and he is always on the lookout for the next great writing challenge.

Summary of Product Experience

Facebook Post

As a millennial with an extensive knowledge of marketing principles, Justin has handled the social media campaigns of a couple companies – including his own. Justin recognizes the importance of crafting a unique voice in the world of social media and has a proven track record with campaigns like Zantigo Restaurants, which required an offbeat, somewhat cheesy voice inspired by the character Nacho Libre.

Brochure

Justin began writing brochures and posters for numerous professional and campus organizations while still at Yale before going on to cover full brochures and written ads for companies such as Cargill, Winnebago Industries, and Itasca Motorhomes. He most recently wrote all of the physical and online brochures for the 2015 lineup of Winnebago and Itasca motorhomes.

Radio Spot

Justin has a fantastic sense of the entire process involved in producing radio advertisements. He began writing scripts for DKY Integrated Marketing Communications' various industrial videos and radio campaigns. As a voice actor with a background in video production, Justin has an innate sense of how much to write and how much to leave up to the actor and production value to tell the story.
