As someone with a lifelong love of the sciences, Jake earned his Bachelor of Arts in Health and Humanities at the University of Southern California. It was here that he began his foray into writing, as he served as one of the initial contributors to the student-published Marshall Monthly, an editorial focused on global business and those who act as its primary drivers. A short time later, he was published by Mr. Beller's Neighborhood, a literary site dedicated to stories about New York City and those who live there.
Jake has written extensively about a variety of subjects relating to entertainment. He served as the Entertainment Editor for the debut issue of print-publication 7 Hollywood Magazine. It was here that he was accountable for not only pitching original editorial content, but also researching and writing it as well. This often meant being tasked with juggling multiple assignments with tight-deadlines. Working in conjunction with the Features Director, he helped to create the voice for 7 Hollywood, and his profiles of Maroon 5 front-man Adam Levine and fashion icon David Gandy were chosen as cover stories for the inaugural issue.
In addition to print, Jake has developed a wide range of web-based content. Both Jay-Z's RocNation and ThreeSixZero Group have utilized his skills to create artist bios, marketing materials, and press-releases. In 2011, he wrote a speech for international-superstar Rihanna and her appearance at the DKMS Gala, and created advertising copy for her TV show, "Styled to Rock."
Apart from his time in entertainment, Jake also has experience working in the business sector. As an employee of Dr Pepper Snapple Group, he crafted PowerPoint presentations and sales materials on both local and corporate levels.
