Chelsea was an actor and public relations assistant for five years in a nonprofit outdoor theater company. In addition to performing costumed in sweltering triple-digit temperatures, she wrote copy for articles, press releases and other promotional content for the company. Chelsea assisted in ad design for the theater's Waterside Star publication and prepared a press conference for Tony Award-winning costume designer William Ivey Long. She also supervised the company's sponsor booths during key events and interacted with hundreds of people out of costume and as costumed characters that she personally developed. The result? An amplified community presence for the company with increased revenue and ticket sales.
Outside the performing arts, Chelsea dedicated her time and energy to develop other nonprofits. She volunteered in many community causes and helped establish a local food bank branch for a regional organization. She continues to offer her nonprofit expertise through the fresh and creative insight in her writing.
