Ashleigh has a degree in journalism and has spent the last three years working as a writer and editor. She wrote hundreds of informational articles for websites during her time in the adoption field. These include informational articles, service articles, human interest stories, testimonials and blog posts. Ashleigh also spent time in the newspaper industry covering topics such as religion, current events, student life, and politics.
Ashleigh also has a strong background in editing and is a self-proclaimed grammar nut. In 2014 she was awarded a prestigious editing internship through the Dow Jones News Fund. As a part of this internship she was trained in an intensive editing workshop before moving to Minnesota to work as a copyeditor for the Pioneer Press. She also spent time as a copyeditor for the University Daily Kansan. She has a deep understanding of AP, MLA, Chicago and APA styles.
